Spring Break Stop #2

We woke up Monday morning and told the kids to get ready that we were going to go somewhere fun. They didn't hurry too fast though since they didn't know that were going too the Happiest Place on Earth. :) Our hotel was close enough that we could walk to the park. On the walk there you could see Disneyland but the kids didn't pay any attention. We entered from the front and the kids still didn't know where we were. We had always stayed in the Disney hotel and walked through downtown Disney to get there so the surrounding weren't familiar to my kids. Dallin finally had Dalek read a trash can that said Disneyland on it. He sounded it out and when he finished he shouted, "Disneyland, we are going to Disneyland?" Kiani said, "But you said we weren't going to Disneyland." Once they got over the initial shock, they were really excited. We first went to Pirates of the Caribbean. It was really crowded and so the lines were pretty long. We had been waiting for about 30 minutes when they said that the ride was broken and that it would take 20 minutes to fix. Dallin took the kids over to Tarzan's tree house while I stayed in line. Once they got it fixed the line went fast because a lot of the people had given up and left. Kalea was pretty scared during the ride and really wasn't sure she wanted to go on any other rides. We decided it would be best to take her on "It's a Small World" so that she could have a mild ride. We waited for another 40 minutes and were told the ride was broken and that they weren't sure how long it would take to fix it. Ugg. So on we went to another ride. We went to the Finding Nemo ride. Waited 40 minutes again and were told that the ride was broken. We were starting to feel like maybe it was our fault that the rides were breaking down. We were three for three for the day. Dallin decided to go get some food after having to take both kids to the bathroom seperately. Most of the people left the line so when they got it fixed we were basically up at the front of the line. We ended up having to wait off to the side for Dallin to get back. The ride operators were really nice about letting us wait and eat our food and then as soon as we were finished we were able to get on the ride. We decided to check and see if It's a Small World was open yet and it was. We told the ride operator our story of waiting in line and then the ride breaking and asked if we could possibly go through the handicap line. They said they don't normally do that but that they would allow us to. Our day had turned around from that point.Kalea ended up loving It's a Small World. She still is singing the song and has bath toys from there that she plays with. I love how relaxing the ride is. It is nice to get away from all the crowds and just float around. I am glad all three of the kids liked it.
We were able to go on about 8 rides that day which isn't much but it seemed good for how busy it was. I was happy that we had two more days to get in more rides. We went back to the hotel before the fireworks and the kids were asleep before they even started at 9:30.
