Christmas Day

The kids woke up sick on Christmas morning. Not really the kind of morning you want to have as a kid but they still enjoyed opening their presents and playing with them. They just didn't have as much energy. They were so excited to see that Santa had been there and that he had eaten the Caramel Apple. (Who could resist, right?) They walked down the stairs together and then went to their stockings. Dalek and Kiani could get down their own but of course Kalea is a little peanut and so Kiani got her stocking down too. Kalea had figured out that presents are a great thing and loved looking through her stockings and finding presents. Santa listened to me this year and didn't stock them full of candy. Santa brought Kiani the Leven Thumps book series, Dalek a clone trooper helmet and dart gun, and Kalea the babystroller and crib. They were all very happy with those. The rule we have in our house is that they can open their presents from Santa and check out their stockings but then we all eat breakfast together. We always have Caramel Apple French Toast. So yummy! After breakfast everyone is excited to get back to the presents. I tried hard this year to keep the numbers of presents reasonable. They got some books, some clothes, and a few toys each. Kiani loved how soft one of her outfits is. Anyone else love the crazy hair? They were too sick to worry about their hair for the pictures. Kalea was happy to discover the train we had bought together hadn't disappeared. She wasn't happy when I wrapped it and it disappeared. Her little pink cheeks make me sad. She was so sick. Dalek was so happy to have a new Star Wars space ship and legos.
Christmas day was pretty relaxing. The kids watched the new movies they got in their stocking and played with their toys. I enjoyed cooking a yummy German meal for us that night. Dallin was sick so he hung out in his chair and played games.
